Guilt Free Fish And Chips

This guilt free fish and chips recipe contains smart carbs, good fats and protein. A perfect post-workout meal.

Serves 2

Shopping list

  • 2-3 sweet potatoes
  • 2 filleted fish
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup Mrs Crimbles ready to use breadcrumbs (gluten free)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked parika
  • salt & pepper

Let’s do this

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200c
  2. Line a baking tray with foil (this stops the chips sticking to the bottom of the tray)
  3. Cut the sweet potatoes into chips (you can leave the skin on) and place in a bowl
  4. Drizzle the oil over the top, add salt and pepper and use your hands to toss the chips in the oil and seasoning
  5. Put the chips on the tray and place in the oven for 40 minutes
  6. In the meantime, beat the egg and pour onto a plate
  7. Place the breadcrumbs onto another plate
  8. Sprinkle paprika, salt and pepper onto each piece of fish
  9. Coat each piece of fish with the egg mixture first and then the breadcrumbs before placing on a baking tray lined with foil or baking paper
  10. When the chips have 15 minutes left to cook, add the fish to cook in the oven for the remaining time
  11. After 15 minutes remove both the fish and chips from the oven and serve
