At Fit to Last, it’s important to us that we do what we can to minimise our carbon footprint. We realise the need for us to contribute to the longevity of this planet.
We’re participating in Lambeth Council’s Climate Action Plan for the borough to “become net zero compatible and climate resilient by 2030”1.
With the support of Lambeth Council’s partnership with Sustainable Ventures, we’ve analysed our impact on the environment and have identified some areas where we can make an immediate impact. We have implemented the following policies and will continue to assess where we can take further action to reduce our carbon footprint to a greater extent.
If you have any suggestions or queries regarding these policies, please get in touch.
DISCOURAGE SINGLE-USE PLASTICS
We encourage our members to bring a re-useable bottle with them to their personal training sessions.
We do not sell drinks.
Re-useable cups are available to be filled with tap water.
MINIMISE USE OF PAPER
Our paperwork needs are fulfilled using digital methods as often and in as many areas of the business as possible.
Paper towels and napkins we purchase are made from recycled paper.
Complimentary coffee offered to members is served in recycled paper cups.
LOW CARBON FOOTPRINT WEBSITE
We’ve invested in adjusting the website to work quickly and efficiently. This reduces the energy used.
Our secondary web hosting suppliers are committed to using renewable energy.
RECYCLING
Complimentary coffee offered to members is sourced from Nespresso. The coffee pods are made from 80% recycled aluminium. After use, we return used coffee pods to Nespresso for recycling
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Tablets, laptops and mobile phones are sourced from Apple who are “cutting the majority of emissions through innovations in materials, clean electricity and low-carbon shipping”2.
Devices are used for as long as physically possible (until they stop working and can no longer be fixed). Devices are returned to Apple for recycling at end of life cycle.
